Hello class. This week you have to do two graphic organizers (dos esquemas). In this video you have a detailed explanation of the most important information about mixtures separation. This will help you to do your first graphic organizer.
Here you have screenshots of the class book in case you need them
you can also watch the videos I put in an older post to make your work even more professional.
In this video, you can see Paula doing magnetic separation at home. Thanks, Paula!
This week we are going to review types of energy (tipos de energía) and sources (de dónde vienen)
TYPES OF ENERGY: Do this activities from your Natural Science book
TYPES OF ENERGY
READ ALL THIS TEXTS AND MAKE A LIST OF ADVANTAGES OF DISADVANTAGES OF EACH TYPE OF ENERGY (lee los textos y haz una lista de ventajas y desventajas de cada tipo de energía)
(AL FINAL DEL TODO OS DEJO UNA TABLA PARA QUE LA COPIÉIS Y LA HAGÁIS IGUAL)
As you know we are learning about mixtures separation. Watch these videos to learn about all of them.
DISTILATION
When two liquids have different boiling temperatures (diferentes puntos de ebullición, que es como se llama a la temperatura a las que hierven) we can DESTILATE THEM:
we boil the mixture
one of the substances evaporates and travels through a condenser
the evaporated substance condenses and becomes liquid again
DECANTATION
In a mixture of liquid and solid, the solid usually settle down at the bottom (el sólido se hunde al fondo del bote) this is called sedimentation. Decantation is the process of pouring out the liquid or water (which contains the dust or soil particles) without disturbing the sediment.
FILTRATION
Sometimes particles are very small and we cannot separate all of them. Using a filter we can filtrate small particles. This is what we do when we wear a mask to go to the supermarket.
MAGNETIC SEPARATION
We can separate metal and non-metal materials in a mixture using magnets
EVAPORATION
We can separate a solid from a liquid through evaporation: We heat the mixture and the liquid evaporates leaving the solid.
one of the most important things in photography is creating sensations and feelings through the use of shadows.
Shadows give us sensations like: mystery and sadness. But they also help us to make objects, people or places more beautiful. In these videos you are going to see some tips to create shadows for your photographs.
In this video you are going to see two ideas to create shadows. Look at number one (DIY SOLUTION) because the second one is too difficult.
In this video you have more tips
HOMEWORK!
Take an object (toy, decoration, plant or even food) and place it on a white or clear surface. Then, light in from different angles or perspectives. Use different sources of light or some of the tips from the videos. Send me THREE PHOTOS in which the SHADOWS are clear. I will upload them to the gallery. Look a my examples
HI CLASS. In this video you can see a small explanation of different types of energy from your class book. Watch my video and look at the different texts that I underlined for you
to learn more, watch these videos in Spanish. they will help you to understand more.
Now, you can do your graphic organizer. Take mine as an example. fill it with the information of your book and from the videos
